AIDA Cruises has announced the name of its second newbuilding from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries in Japan, with the 124,500-ton, 3,300-passenger AIDAperla debuting and starting Mediterranean service in 2017.

The ship will be based in Palma, sailing seven-day cruises departing every Saturday with transit calls in Corsica, Rome, Florence and Barcelona. A date of when these sailings will start is still pending.
