Mobile to Put Up $800k in Marketing for Carnival Fantasy

With the return of Carnival Cruise Line to Mobile, Alabama, the city has promised to put up $200,000 per quarter in marketing, according to a report on AL.com.

The article states the city will establish a marketing fund, with money coming from parking revenue to be used to market cruises out of Mobile.

Starting next November, the Carnival Fantasy will operate a year-long schedule of four- and five-day cruises to Mexico from the Mobile Cruise Terminal.

Between terminal fees, parking fees and passenger service charges, less expenses – including debt servicing on the terminal – the city predicts an annual profit of just under $2 million on the cruise operationa.
