Editorial No. 100: With Our Thanks

Rendering of the PhoenixThis marks the 100th issue of the Cruise Industry News Quarterly Magazine and the 30th year for Cruise Industry News. We started out with a printed newsletter, which for all intents and purposes now is part of our website news. The newsletter was followed by an annual industry report – with the 28th edition available this spring. The magazine evolved from both the newsletter and the annual report.

We would like to use this opportunity to thank the cruise lines who have worked with us over the years and our advertisers who have supported us and continue to do so and to Captain Hans Mateboer for his many years of article contributions to the Captain’s Log. And last, but not least, our own crew – our advertising sales team and reporters – who are key to our success. Thank you!

For this issue, we are also grateful to the individuals who contributed to our “Legends and Leaders” section – in particular Micky Arison, Knut Utstein Kloster, Arne Wilhelmsen, Edwin Stephan, John Chandris, Helge Naarstad, Art Rodney, Bob Dickinson and Stein Kruse.

We also appreciate the many vendors and suppliers, port authorities and other industry stakeholders who give us their time and are willing to share their expertise and information.

Over the years, we have made many good friends both ashore and aboard, and we still find the industry’s many aspects and complexities fascinating.

Here is to our next 100 magazine issues!

Bon Voyage
