Schettino Sentenced to 16 Years

Costa Concordia Captain Francesco Schettino has been sentenced to 16 years in jail for his role in the 2012 Concordia sinking off the island of Giglio.

An Italian court handed down the verdict as the 2012 accident killed 32 people.

It may be some time before he heads to jail, however, as the Italian appeals process is lengthy.
