Various reports in Italian media are claiming that Costa Crociere’s marine department will soon be managed out of Rostock, moving the Italian brand’s marine operation in with AIDA Cruises.

Responding to a request for comment from Cruise Industry News, Costa released the following statement:

Costa Crociere S.p.A. is one of the leading cruise companies in the world. We operate globally with offices in 12 countries on three continents. Our head office is in Genoa, where we employ more than 1.000 people. Just in the recent two years we have hired 200 new colleagues for that location. Our corporate strategy, which is geared to further growth, requires us to constantly adapt our organizational structures. The results of our latest analysis are going to be available in a few months.
