Editorial: Exclusive Reporting

Celebrity Solstice in Newcastle Our reports are exclusive, based on one-on-one interviews and independent research. This issue is no exception and offers uniquely insightful information into how the different segments of the industry are evolving on a global basis.

In China, our extensive coverage presents the industry to the various stakeholders there, including the government. As we are the media partner of the China Cruise and Yacht Industry Association, this issue will be distributed at their annual meeting in Tianjin in October.

For Australia, we are covering the market, the cruise lines there and the ports, and outline their respective objectives and strategies, with special emphasis on Western Australia, which is working to build up its traffic.

CSMART is Carnival Corporation’s simulation and training center in Almere in the Netherlands, where we were able to go behind the scenes. As you read in our report, this is an impressive effort to introduce function-based bridge and engine room management across the Carnival fleet.

Fincantieri offered us access to senior executives of its merchant ships business unit, who discussed with us their strategy for growth and technology development. In addition, we were able to visit Royal Caribbean’s Quantum of the Seas, and we touched base with a number of key suppliers discussing energy management and fuel savings.

Norwegian Cruise Line talked to us about their plans for the brand going forward, including their earnings trajectory.

Thus, in this issue, you will once again find a series of exclusive and timely reports you will not find anywhere else.

Bon Voyage
