Costa Cruises has released a further statement regarding the Costa Deliziosa:
With reference to the Costa Deliziosa technical Failure experienced on May 18 evening while she was berthed in Valencia as per her planned itinerary, Costa Crociere informs that guest disembarkation will be soon completed today afternoon (May 20, 2014) and, through to the contingency plan the Company immediately activated, they have been transferred safely to their destinations.
Costa Crociere has already informed future guests supposed to start their cruise in Civitavecchia on May 20 and Savona May 21, that Costa Deliziosa will not be able to embark them on the scheduled timing (May20 / May 21). The company intensively worked to set alternative options to make sure its guests can still enjoy their planned holidays through appropriate solutions.
Upon completion of the repair works, the ship is expected to arrive in Savona on May 23, for an 11 nights cruise to Black Sea which is scheduled to leave Savona May23 night. Guests booked on this cruise (which was originally planned to start on May21) are being contacted in order to update them about the new revised schedule and cruise program. Costa Crociere will offer to those guests both a reimbursement of 25% of the price they paid for the cruise as well as a 100Euro on board credit. While for those who already reached Savona the Company will offer them two nights accommodation in a 4stars Hotel assisting them until their embarkation.
