The Star Flyer called for the first time to San Soucí, Port of Santo Domingo today.

This vessel included Santo Domingo on its route coming from Jamaica and sailing later for Star Clippers to the British Virgin Islands.

To commemorate the maiden call, the traditional “Plaque and Key” ceremony took place between the port and the ship, on the behalf of Sansouci company and Star Clipper Cruise, Sharon Mei, commercial director and Captain Juergen Mueller-Cyran, respectively .

This activity also included the ship agent, Perez & Cia Dominicana, S.A.

During the crest exchange activity, Sharon Mei, gave a formal and warm welcome to the Star Flyer representatives.

“With this call, the port of Santo Domingo marks 81,971 cruise guest visits during the present 2013-2014 cruise season”, Mei said.

The Star Flyer had 172 passengers and 77 crew aboard.
