San Diego and LA Join Forces on Maritime Law Enforcement Training

The Port of San Diego Harbor Police Chief John Bolduc will sign a Memorandum of Understanding with the Chief of the Port of Los Angeles Port Police Department, Ronald J. Boyd, today, to facilitate cooperation through the Regional Maritime Law Enforcement Training Center.

According to a prepared statement from the Port of San Diego, marine law enforcement poses unique challenges, from vessel pursuits to boat fires.

Going forward, these marine law enforcement agencies will jointly conduct officer training. Through the sharing of expertise and resources such as classrooms, training vessels and equipment, this joint-training program will improve training quality for both agencies.
