MSC Cruises Brazil has announced its 2013/2014 season deployment, highlighted by the surprise positioning of the line’s latest newbuild MSC Preziosa, due out in early 2013.
The 140,000-ton ship will join the Magnifica in Santos and the Orchestra in Rio, while the MSC Poesia will sail from Buenos Aires, having previously spent winters sailing from Florida.
MSC Cruises USA, meanwhile, will sail the new MSC Divina from Miami in the Poesia’s absence.
Since the 2009/2010 season, MSC has been a market leader in Brazil, growing some 600 percent in just five years, according to the Italian company.
2013/2014 will see a 12 percent increase in capacity in South America for the line, with more varied itineraries, a longer season and more short cruises.
“Today, MSC Cruises has over 40 offices worldwide and operates in five continents, of which Brazil is already the second most important market for the company worldwide. For this reason, we decided to honor the Brazilian public with the best we have in terms of modernity, technology and sophistication,” said Adrian Ursilli, Commercial and Marketing Director of MSC Cruises in Brazil.
