Los Angeles will host the third Pacific Ports Clean Air Collaborative Conference Feb. 22 – 24. This event is designed to discuss challenges and solutions to air pollution created by port operations. Approximately 150 participants from more than 25 ports and related entities attended the inaugural conference, hosted by the Port of Los Angeles in 2006. The second conference was held in Shanghai in 2008. This year’s theme is “Challenges for a Sustainable Future.”
The conference is designed to encourage information sharing among ports along the Pacific Rim and will feature sessions that focus on the need for green ports and international collaboration, economic trends, sustainable management practices, climate change, and new technologies in terminal management.
