Lloyd’s Register North America (LR) is offering a two-day International Safety Management (ISM) Internal Auditor training course on Oct. 25 and 26 at its training center in Plantation, Florida. The course is designed to combine ISM familiarization and internal audits with a practical approach to the interpretation and application of the code.
The course is structured around presentations, group discussions and case studies, in addition to individual and group exercises. According to LR, participants will learn about the content of the ISM code and its interpretation; management systems and the risk management principles underlying the code, and about the principles and practices of auditing. They will also learn how to apply the principles of the ISM Code as a management system model; be able to review and interpret the code; and understand the basics of safety management and risk in shipping.
Participants will learn how to plan and conduct audits and generate audit reports. The two-day course is offered for a fee of $1,000.
