The 18thAnnual Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association Conference (FCCA) kicked off on Tuesday October 4 in San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Kevin Sheehan, chairman of the FCCA, and CEO of Norwegian Cruise Line, cut the ribbon to mark the start of the conference, along with a local official from Puerto Rico.
Michele M. Paige, president, FCCA, gave an introductory speech ahead of the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the conference which brings Caribbean destinations and tour operators together with cruise line decision makers.
Additionally, member ports are able to attend talks involving industry leaders during the week in PuertoRico. The ports are also offered the chance to meet with cruise lines.
On hand for today’s activities included: Micky Arison, chairman and CEO, Carnival Corporation; Rick Sasso, president and CEO, MSC Cruises USA; Kevin Sheehan, president and CEO, Norweigan Cruise Line; and Jan Swartz, executive vice president, sales, market and customer service, Princess Cruises, and marketing chair of the Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA).
While traffic in the Caribbean is higher than ever, congestion issues remain a talking point, as does the (ticket) pricing level of winter cruises. Check back for more updates from the FCCA conference on CruiseIndustryNews.com
