Savannah Cruise Project Continues to Gather Steam

According to local reports, port officials in Savannah, Georgia, have rejected the idea to use George Port Authority’s Ocean Terminal for a cruise pier.

Officials said that the site was already too busy with cargo operations and there are also security concerns since the port is frequented by the U.S. military.

Savannah port has retained BEA Architects to help with its expansion into the cruise industry. Furthermore the southern city has also completed a feasibility study for a potential cruise terminal. The study is reported to have cost $120,000.
