Hurtigruten’s Loyalty Program Attracting Past Guests

Just six months after its launch, Hurtigruten’s 1893 Ambassador Loyalty Program has garnered more than 16,000 registrations from past guests, according to a press release from the company, prompting it to expand membership beyond Europe and the U.S. to customers worldwide.

Members enjoy discounts of 10% off any Classic Norway voyage longer than three days and 5% off an Explorer Voyage to Europe or to Greenland, Antarctica or Spitsbergen. Additionally, members receive 5% savings on selected excursions on Norwegian coastal itineraries. Other benefits include bridge visits, a welcoming fruit basket; three-day bicycle rentals; a quarterly member newsletter with background stories and insider tips; and a personalized member card.

The discount rewards can also be combined with Early-Booking fares and other selected discount programs. Membership in the program is free of charge and its included discounts are for the cruise component only.

The release did not explain why the program is called 1893, but that was the year when Hurtigruten was launched.
