A fuel tank exploded on a pier while the Independence of the Seas was berthed in Gibraltar earlier today (May 31).
A statement issued by Royal Caribbean International said that 12 passengers received medical attention onboard the ship. Following the explosion on the pier, the ship was able to retract its gangway and move “a safe distance” from the dock.
