Port Everglades’ officials are seeking public participation in an August 31 meeting regarding future plans for the Broward County seaport.
Designed to provide information and obtain feedback on a 2009 update to Port Everglades’ 2006 20-year Master/Vision Plan, the public meeting is slated for Tuesday, August 31, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., at the Broward County Main Library auditorium, 100 S. Andrews Ave., Fort Lauderdale. The public is requested to R.S.V.P. by email to PortEverglades@broward.org. “Numerous elements of the 2006 Master/Vision Plan are being implemented throughout Port Everglades,” said Phillip C. Allen, Port Everglades Port Director. “This update sets the course for further enhancements over the next 5-, 10- and 20-year periods, to benefit the Port’s cruise, cargo and petroleum industry sectors and the people of Broward County.
“Port stakeholders and the general public alike are enthusiastically encouraged to take part in the August 31 meeting, to learn more about – and furnish input on – the Port’s future initiatives, which aim to maintain and advance Port Everglades’ prominence in cruise, cargo and petroleum sectors and role as a major economic engine in Broward County,” Allen continued. “We are committed to expanding and enhancing facilities in a manner that is economical, efficient and environmentally responsible.”
