Maritime Labor Convention Training Course

Lloyd’s Register (LR) is offering a two-day training course for the ILO Maritime Labor Convention (MLC), July 7 and 8 (2010) at its Plantation, Florida, offices.  The cost is $1,000 per person. According to LR, the course is aimed at those who will be involved in the creation and implementation of policies and procedures required for compliance with the convention. Contents will include a discussion of the convention and its implementation onboard; training in how to conduct a review in relation to compliance requirements; introduction to dealing with seafarers’ complaints; practical guidance on how to undertake inspections of maritime labor issues; and preparation for an MLC inspection.
