Marmaris Cruise Port Celebrates Inaugural Turn-Around

Marmaris Cruise Port has announced the successful completion of its inaugural turn-around call with the arrival of Thomson Celebration on May 3, 2010. The Thomson Celebration disembarked 1,200 passengers, embarked 1,230 passengers and will be home porting in Marmaris throughout the rest of the summer, where she will turn around 25 more times.

Port officials said the new and expanded passenger terminal and the newly constructed check-in area helped make the first turn-around a success. Also, the said, the port’s key geographical location is ideal for basing ships in the Eastern Mediterranean. The Thomson Celebration is offering four different itineraries from Marmaris, alternating weekly cruises to the Eastern Mediterranean, the Aegean and the Black Sea.

The ship personnel also expressed satisfaction with the operation and their welcome in Marmaris, and according to port officials, the operation surpassed their expectations. Overall, passengers were happy with the smooth running operation at the newly expanded terminal at Marmaris Cruise Port.
