The Port of Marseilles has reported that passenger volumes were up 2 percent in the first quarter to 175,000, including a 69 percent increase in cruise numbers to 37,000. Ferry passengers fell 8 percent to 138,000, with Algerian services stable on 40,000, Tunisia up 10 percent for 21,000 but Corsica down 15 percent to 77,000 due to shipping line strikes.
