Bordeaux has announced that 24 ship calls and more than 21 000 passengers and crew are expected this year in the Gironde. The Fram starts the season, calling in Bordeaux on April 5. The Sojourn Seabourn will close the season on Oct. 7.

According to the chamber of commerce and industry, the ships present an opportunity for the economy of the region, with passengers and crew spending an average of 193 euros per person, per day and per call.

Other ships calling this year include the Crystal Symphony and the Prinsendam. The largest ship will be the Oriana. The most unique ship may the World, according to the chamber.

First time time callers include the Silver Spirit, the Danae, the Discovery,the Alexander Von Humboldt, and the Insignia, in addition to the Sojourn.
