TUI Travel has given an upbeat outlook for 2010 prior to releasing its six month results for the period ending March 31, 2010.
The Germany-based travel company said it is seeing a significant recovery in consumer demand for leisure holidays resulting in strong trading across all seasons.
“For this winter (2009/2010) all programs are now almost fully sold and we have achieved planned load factors,” TUI said in a prepared statement, adding that it is experiencing “strong pricing in close-in bookings due to having fewer holidays left to sell in the period.”
Bookings for summer travel remains strong and cumulative booking volumes in most source markets are up, with the UK and Nordic countries up 13 percent and 23 percent respectively.
Significant progress expected in the second quarter driven by reduced losses in Canada and Germany.
