Amsterdam Edging Toward Year-Round Operations

Amsterdam received its first cruise call for 2010 on January 3 following six calls in December 2009.  The first and last calls of the season have never been so close together, according to the port. In 2010, Amsterdam will host 94 calls, two more than in 2009. The number of passengers will be higher due to an increase in turnarounds and larger ships. Ten ships will be calling for the first time: the MSC Magnifica and Opera, AIDABlu, Queen Elizabeth, Seabourn Sojourn, Le Boreal, Minerva, Maasdam, Ocean Princess and Saga Pearl II.
