While Vancouver is eagerly awaiting the Winter Olympic games, with 100 days to go from Nov. 4, according to Tourism Vancouver, its two cruise terminals reported record days as ships concluded their Alaska season and repositioned to warmer climates. On Sunday, Sept. 20, and Monday, Sept,. 21, approximately 14,000 passengers disembarked and embarked at the Canada Place and Ballantyne terminals, with another 6,700 on Sept. 27.
Aug. 31, Vancouver unveiled its new shore power facility at Canada Place, following the introduction earler that month of Canada Line’s SkyTrain service between downtown and the Vancouver International Airport facilitating cruise passenger transport.
