Compagnie du Ponant launched the first of its two new ships, Le Boreal, at Fincantieri’s Ancona yard on Oct. 1. Attending the ceremony were Jean-Emmanuel Sauvee, CEO; Veronique Saade, executive vice president and godmother; Jean-Philippe Lemaire, the ship’s captain; technical staff, and Fincantieri management. Sea trials are scheduled for early January 2010, with delivery in April and the maiden voyage in May.
