Cruise passengers were disembarked from the Ocean Dream and flown back home, safe, according to Kathleen Rojer of Aruba Cruise Tourism.
Ocean Dream of Pullmantur Cruises entered the territorial waters of Aruba last night with three reported crew H1N1 influenza type A cases, Aruba Cruise Tourism said in a prepared statement.
None of the cruise passengers onboard Ocean Dream to Aruba were said to be infected.
There are are 18 different nationalities on Ocean Dream, including local citizens.
Rojer said that “the directorate has been in contact with the ministry of public health of Aruba, executives of Royal Caribbean Cruises, the prime minister of Aruba, Aruba Ports Authority Aruba NV, SEL Maduro & Sons, the ministry of tourism and transport, international media, cruise specialists and executives of the cruise industry.”
“Aruba is showing proper care for her prestigious and valuable cruise guests,” she said in a prepared statement. “This shows Aruba being kind, caring, hospitable and professional in handling a regretful situation, yet safeguarding all involved.”
