Catalogue 2010/2011: to the Amazonas and South America with AIDA

  • April 27, 2009

The cruise company AIDA Cruises is publishing its new yearly catalogue, AIDAtime, with cruises on offer from February 2010 to April 2011 on 29 April 2009 – once again considerably expanding its range of tours. AIDA ships will be calling at a total of 154 dream destinations on 75 routes. New items in the programme include voyages to the Amazonas and Brazil, as well as city tours in Northern Europe. All cruises on the seventh ship of the AIDA fleet – AIDAblu – can now also be booked for the first time.

New destinations

The AIDAvita conquers the greatest river on Earth on two routes each to the Amazonas and Trans-Amazonas. The route through the tropical rain forest takes visitors as far as the jungle metropolis of Manaus.

The AIDAcara is setting course for the Brazilian Atlantic coast for the first time, calling at such fascinating cities as Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Recife. Between November 2010 and March 2011, the AIDAcara will operate on five different South American routes and two trans-Brazilian cruises. Advance bookings for these voyages can be made from 29 April 2009.

In addition to the AIDAvita, AIDA Cruises will also be deploying a ship of the new generation in the Caribbean: apart from the classic 14-day cruises, the AIDAluna will also offer three varied one-week routes in winter 2010/2011.

Also new are the 20-day Trans-Arabian and Trans-Asian cruises, which will be offered in addition to the two-week voyages.

AIDA has a new base port in the Eastern Mediterranean: from April to October 2010, the AIDAdiva will set out on two different 7-day routes from the Port of Antalya.

For those that like strolling around cities, AIDA now has another highlight in its programme, with the AIDAblu setting course for the five exciting European cities of Hamburg, Paris, London, Antwerp and Amsterdam in March and April 2010. The AIDAblu will depart from Hamburg a total of eight times on this one-week city cruise.

Start of bookings for the AIDAblu

The latest new addition to the AIDA fleet will celebrate its premiere when it is christened in Hamburg on 9 February 2010. The dazzling ceremony will also signal the prelude to AIDAblu’s maiden voyage to Western Europe prior to the ship spending the summer in the Baltic Sea. Comfortable spa cabins with direct access to the wellness area will be available on the ship with a GRT of 71,100 tons for the first time. The Japanese style Body & Soul Spa offers even more space for relaxation on three decks. The new restaurant concept has something for every palate from the Italian Restaurant to the California Grill for American specialities, as well as the East Restaurant offering Asian cuisine. Those that like things a bit more rustic can sample home-brewed beers and enjoy hearty specialities in the world’s first floating brewery.

Suite service

As from now, AIDA is offering more services for its suite guests: in addition to a 3-course menu in the Rossini Gourmet Restaurant on the day of arrival, our suite guests will also be given free use of the Wellness Oasis on the day of departure. Breakfast can also be served in one of the à-la-carte restaurants on request.

Rail&Fly inclusive

Taking the train to the airport: when booking an AIDA cruise with the international arrival and departure package, the AIDA Rail&Fly ticket is already included in the 2010/2011 catalogue. This means that guests can travel to their departure airport in comfort with Deutsche Bahn without any additional costs and then home again after the voyage. At an additional cost of € 30 per person each way, guests can also enjoy travelling on the train in a 1st class compartment.

Early Booker Plus up to 31 October 2009

Those booking their AIDA cruise early will benefit twice: when booking 5 months before the start of the voyage, guests will receive an attractive Early Booker Discount for the first and second person in the cabin. The Early Booker Plus campaign will also be valid for the first time and for cruises chosen from the AIDAtime 2010/11 catalogue only: when booking up to 31 October 2009, the first and second person in the cabin will receive a credit of an additional 50% of the regular Early Booker Discount. Up to € 600 can be saved using the Early Booker Plus offer.

On top of this, all the AIDA ships also provide a wide range of variety for every taste – with varied sport and wellness programmes, professional entertainment, unusual excursions, culinary delights and comfortably furnished cabins. Full board, table drinks in the buffet restaurants, childcare, sauna and shows are included.
