Air Jamaica Partners With Curacao Tourist Board To Boost Travel To Curacao

As part of its strategy to boost travel to Curacao, Air Jamaica is focusing greater attention on travel to the Dutch Caribbean island of Curacao. With service from Baltimore, Chicago and Philadelphia, Air Jamaica is partnering with the Curacao Tourist Board on a number of initiatives including, an agent/companion program, an agent incentive program and familiarization tours, expected to boost travel to the island.

“We believe that Curacao is a gem in the Caribbean that many tourists have yet to discover and see it as a huge opportunity for both travel agents and Air Jamaica,” said George deMercado, Senior Director, Sales.

Fly to Curacao with a Companion

Starting April 15, 2009, travel agents and a companion can fly Air Jamaica roundtrip to Curacao for a rate of US$99 and US$199, respectively. These special fares are valid for travel now through June 18, 2009, and require a minimum two-night stay and maximum seven-nights.

Air Jamaica’s flights to Curacao operate three times weekly (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday) from Baltimore and Philadelphia and twice weekly (Thursday and Saturday) from Chicago. No stopovers are permitted, and in order to benefit from this offer, agents must possess a valid IATAN or CLIA ID card.

Treasures of Curacao

The airline has also announced its Treasures of Curacao Travel Agent Incentive Program. Beginning April 15, 2009, agents booking five vacation packages (minimum 10 passengers) on Air Jamaica between April 15 and November 15, 2009, for travel through December 14, 2009, can earn one round-trip economy class ticket to Curacao.

Familiarization Tours

Air Jamaica will also host familiarization tours for groups of agents to experience its legendary Lovebird Hospitality and provide a taste of Curacao. The tours will depart on Thursdays and return on Saturdays.
