London based interior design consultancy Designteam and specialist spa and leisure designers Stephenjohn Design have announced that they are joining forces from the end of March 2009.

The two consultancies have already collaborated successfully on a number of projects in recent years. Designteam director Eric Mouzourides explains that this move is welcomed by all concerned. “Frank [Symeou, Designteam co-director] and I are proud to call John [Picken, managing director of Stephenjohn Design] a friend. He is highly respected in the spa design industry for his experience, design acumen and professionalism.”

Mouzourides believes that the merger is a more attractive proposition for prospective clients. “The combined strength of our two design brands will enable us to offer clients a more comprehensive service, and a greater level of expertise in the area of spa design.”

The three principals (Mouzourides, Symeou and Picken) agree that the joint venture is the logical next step or their respective companies, which have earned acclaim in their respective fields, including hospitality, retail, leisure and cruise ship design. They see the merger as a chance to pool their resources and provide mutual support on existing and forthcoming projects.
