The first cables were recently pulled onboard an Amels newbuilding yacht, construction no. 6501. This vessel is one of the new LIMITED EDITONS AMELS 212 series: a yacht measuring more than 65 meters, with seven state-rooms, five decks, and additional spaces, ranging from the captain’s suite to magnificent VIP Suites, a master suite extending over the entire width of the vessel, and a sky lounge, a 200-square meter sun deck with a hot-tub, wet-feet bar, jet-stream pool, sky gym and dining space for twelve. Representatives of the management of both Imtech and Amels conducted the cable-pulling ceremony. It was the symbolic start of the work of Imtech onboard the yacht.
Imtech’s contribution to this yacht includes the complete electrical installation, switchboards, electrical panels, electrical cabling, fire detection system, technical and luxury lighting systems and fixtures and the alarm monitoring system.
The Imtech 6501 and 6502 project team, along with a team from Amels, was present for the special occasion. Specifically, it involved pulling a bow-thruster cable from the thruster to the main switchboard.

Amels is recognized as a world leader in fine custom yacht building. It began in 1918 building rugged fishing trawlers, but turned exclusively to yachtbuilding after 1982. In 1991 Amels joined the Damen Shipyards Group, the only yachtbuilder among more than 30 quality-oriented shipyards. Now, with the global success of its “LIMITED EDITIONS” program, Amels has become a world leader in semi-custom building. Amels shares modern facilities in Vlissingen on the North Sea, as well as design and engineering disciplines, with Damen’s Schelde Naval Shipbuilding yard. Schelde, since 1875, has built some 400 cutting-edge commercial and naval ships. Amels’ facilities include extensive office space, two large covered drydocks, and two covered finishing bays where yachts up to 200 meters can be completed, and where Amels also performs major refits on yachts of its own construction and that of other builders. Currently Amels has 11 projects under construction
