Peter Deilmann to Upgrade River Fleet

Peter Deilmann Cruises will soon own a fleet of all ”five-star” river cruise vessels, according to President Ron Santangelo.

The company currently sails with six, five-star, and two, four-star riverboats – in addition to the 520-passenger ocean-going Deutschland. (The two four-star boats will be leaving the fleet at the end of this year.)

As for the size of the five-star additions, and whether they will be newbuilds or acquisitions, Santangelo would only say that “the line’s next strategic review will be late 2009, and we should know more by then.

Peter Deilmann’s current fleet is comprised of three acquisitions – the Mozart, Dresden and Cezanne – and five newbuildings – the Princesse de Provence, Casanova, Katharina, Frederic Chopin and Heidelberg. All were built in Germany, except for the Princesse de Provence, which was built in the UK.
