The newly-branded Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival will kick off the island’s calendar year of exciting events tonight at the Aqueduct at Rose Hall Montego Bay. Situated between the Caribbean Sea and the Rose Hall golf course, the festival provides an idyllic but exciting atmosphere for the expected 5,000-7,000 tourists and thousands of attendees who flock to Montego Bay for music and to enjoy the island’s offerings.

The festival begins Thursday, January 22 and runs through Saturday, January 24. It will feature a dazzling line up of international performers each night including Lionel Ritchie, Estelle, Robin Thicke, Chicago, The O’Jays, Matisyahu, Ashford and Simpson, ranging from contemporary, R & B, Blues, Reggae, and Latin. In between music performances, patrons can sample a wide array of cuisine from local restaurants, browse the arts and crafts booths, and shop at the Rasta Indigenous Village for pottery, clothing and more.

In addition to the concert each night, travelers are also encouraged to enjoy all of Jamaica’s attractions and offerings including championship golfing, adventure tours, historic sites and great houses, family-friendly water parks, luxurious spas, shopping and dining featuring a unique blend of the different cultures from Jamaica’s people. The title sponsor for the year, Jamaica Tourist Board, has promoted the festival as a destination within the destination, so travelers get a taste of Jamaica in every aspect.

The Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival takes place January 22-24. Tickets are available at a cost of US$80 per night; special packages of US$155 for Friday and Saturday nights and US$235 are also available for season passes. Patrons who wish to upgrade to VIP passes may do so at a cost of US$20 for Thursday Night, US$40 for Friday and Saturday nights and US$60 for the season passes.
