In its fourth quarter and year end earnings call today, Carnival Corporation Chairman and CEO Micky Arison said: “We have to remain diligent about opportunities that may come our way.” He went on to say that after 9/11, the ships of failed companies were sold and ended up in different fleets and said that “stuff may happen again.” When asked by an analyst on the earnings call if there is tonnage that he would consider buying, Arison answered “yes.” When asked whether he would start a new brand, he answered “probably not.”
