Northern California Considering Cruise Berth

Officials at the Humboldt Bay Harbor in Eureka, California floated a plan Tuesday to build a $41.3 million berth for cargo and cruise ships at the Redwood Marine Terminal.

The plan, which is open to public comment, did not specify the proposed length of the single-berth, but did say the cargo/cruise facility would be built in such a way as it could be easily be lengthened to accommodate larger ships if needed.

Money to build the project would come from a revenue bond, according to the proposal.
