Mexico has planned a week-long display of its food and culture in Washington D.C. starting Saturday.

The event features Mexican Chocolate Day – highlighting the use of chocolate in traditional dishes; Yucatan Day – featuring food specific to the Yucatan region; Puebla Day – including a special Antojitos menu with typical Pueblan cuisine; Oaxaca Day – with chefs and food from the Oaxaca region; Michoacan Day – where cooking instructor Patricia Jinich will demonstrate Mexican cooking; and Puerto Vallarta Day – featuring Pacific dishes.

Concerts planned for the event include East Los Angeles legends Los Lobos, the New York City quartet, Pistolera, and two-time Latin Grammy winner Julieta Venegas.

The event runs from Sept. 6 to Sept. 12 and is sponsored by the Embassy of Mexico, Ministry of Agriculture, Mexican Tourism Board and Mexican Cultural Institute.
