Thai Airways International officially opened its Ground Operations Control Center (GOCC) on July 16, 2008 at THAI’s Suvarnabhumi Airport Operations Centre. THAI’s President, Flg. Off. Apinan Sumanaseni presided over the opening ceremony together with THAI’s Vice President and the managing directors for the four operating units within the GOCC.
The GOCC’s objective is to promote a seamless relationship between THAI’s four business components – The Ground Customer Services, Catering, Ground Support Equipment Services and Cargo & Mail Commercial Departments.
By employing modern IT equipment that monitor and control all aspects of ground service activities, the GOCC aims to establish greater service and operational efficiency through 100 percent on-time flight performance, minimized ground time for better aircraft rotation, seamless transfer and handling of passengers and baggage as well as fast recovery from irregularities.
