Celebrity Increases Calls to Antigua

Celebrity Cruises, which recently announced their 2009-2010 Caribbean Sailings will be making several calls to St. John’s, Antigua.  The Constellation will call on November 14, 2009 as part of a 13-night Ultimate Caribbean Cruise out of Miami.   Initially, this was the only called scheduled for Antigua,  but as a result of a “very productive” meeting he had with Celebrity Cruises in Miami last week, Conrad Pole, Manager for the Antigua Pier Group, reports “three additional calls were added, one in December 2009 and two in February 2010.”

Berthing requests will also soon be made for the Celebrity Summit for calls to Antigua from mid-December 2009 through April 2010 on a 7-night roundtrip voyage out of San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Pole said he also used the opportunity at this “exploratory” meeting to give the management of Celebrity and Azamara Cruses an overview of plans for the re-development of the St. John’s Waterfront and Cruise Complex.  Attending the meeting were representatives from several departments  including Global Deployment, Itinerary Planning, Shore Excursions and Explorations, Re-deployment and Operations and Government Relations for the Caribbean and Latin America.
