Tecnico Corporation Expands Operations in Alabama

Técnico Corporation has acquired a waterfront facility in Chickasaw, Alabama. This acquisition is Técnico’s second facility in the state and its fifth regional facility in the United States.

The waterfront facility includes 17 acres along the Chickasaw Bouge Creek. The facility offers 1080’ of pier space at a depth of 30’. “We’ve been watching the growth of the Alabama economy and we saw the opportunity to make a strategic purchase to expand with the states economic momentum,” said Michael Torrech, President, Técnico Corporation.

Técnico’s new facility includes 40,000 Sq Ft of Office Space, one 30 ton crane, two 10 ton overhead cranes, 68,000 Sq Ft of inside shop area, 50,000 Sq Ft of production area and 1200 Amps of Shore Power Service

At the Chickasaw facility, Técnico will provide the maritime industry with an array of services and turn-key project management including steel and aluminum fabrication, virtual shipbuilding, modular construction, and a full range of topside repairs for the offshore sector and shipyards in the Gulf.

Técnico Corporation has a history of providing professional repair and construction services for companies such as Northrop Grumman, Newport News, BAE, Detyens Shipyards, Inc., and others. Headquartered in the Norfolk, VA area, with a longtime presence in both San Diego, CA and Panama City, FL, Técnico, in recent years, has expanded its reach into Jacksonville, Florida, and Mobile, Alabama.

Técnico Corporation has demonstrated a clear expertise in structural steel and aluminum and joiner and interior projects. Perhaps even more importantly they’ve been successful in recruiting a workforce from the Gulf to work projects throughout the country.
