Cruise Traffic Up in Gibraltar

Gibraltar has reported 275,993 cruise passengers for 2007, up 31 percent over 2006, on 227 cruise calls 78 different cruise ships. Additionally, 124,024 crew arrived on these ships. Traditionally, the spring and autumn are the busiest seasons, and this year was no exception with 32 calls in April, 33 in May, 31 in October and 30 in November.

For 2008, Gibraltar has 219 bookings so far and is expecting 285,000 passengers. Maiden calls will be made by the Queen Victoria, Norwegian Jade, Island Star, Pacific Princess, Le Levant, Emerald Princess, Ventura, Spirit of Adventure, Independence of the Seas (due to visit 9 times), Balmoral, Eurodam and Azamara Journey.
