AMCV 1997 Q2

American Classic Voyages (AMCV) has reported net income of $1.2 million, or $0.08 per share, on revenues of $42.4 million for the second quarter ended June 30, 1997, compared to net income of $381,000, or $0.03 per share, on revenues of $49.0 million for the second quarter of 1996.

AMCV attributed the decline in revenue to the four-week drydocking of the Independence.

For the first six months of 1997, AMCV reported a net loss of $811,000, or $0.06 per share, on revenues of $82.7 million, compared to a net loss of $42.9 million, or $3.11 per share, on revenues of $90.7 million for the first six months of 1996. Last year’s six month result also included a write-down of $38.4 million related to the retirement of the Constitution.
