The Walt Disney Company has submitted a preliminary master plan for Port Disney, a marine-oriented theme park and destination resort proposed for the Long Beach, CA waterfront by the late 1990s. The approximately $2.3 billion, 350-acre theme park, tentatively called “DisneySea,” would include a cruise ship terminal in addition to Disney-style rides, aquarium, marine research facilities, hotels, restaurants, and shopping. The cruise terminal would be operated by the Port of Long Beach, which geographically shares the San Pedro harbor with the Port of Los Angeles.
