Far East Newbuilding Plans

CIN has learnt that the Japanese shipyard Nippon Kokan Kaisha has secured a contract to build a luxury cruise ship, also intended for the North American market.

The vessel is reported to be yacht-like at 5,000 tons and has been contracted by Oceanic Cruise Ltd. which is owned jointly by Showa Lin, NKK and other Japanese companies.

The ship will be built to top international standards and shall also be competitive in the Caribbean, according to its owners. Delivery is scheduled for 1989.
