New Ships from Australian Line?

Explorer Cruises S/A of Sydney, Australia, reportedly has awarded a contract for four state-of-the-art Catamarans to an undisclosed shipyard.

Two 160-passenger and two 60-passenger vessels are reportedly being built for cruising around the Great Barrier Reef, but the entire project appears to be clothed in secrecy.

The line will not even reveal who the principals are, and reports from several brokers, shipyards and other industry sources confirmed that this is a well-kept secret.

Mr. O. Stolpes, a spokesman for Explorer Cruises would only say that “the brochures are being printed, and we have lined up a network of travel agents to help us when we are ready to proceed. Everything should be in order by March, and we’ll announce all the details at that time.”
