VIVA Cruises has put the spotlight on itineraries featuring Europe’s Christmas markets.

The company said in a statement that river cruises make it possible to explore multiple reasons to travel in December on a single trip.

VIVA Cruises’ seasonal sailings along the Rhine, Danube and Seine pair Christmas market visits with historic towns, seasonal treats and opportunities to discover local holiday traditions, the statement added.

The VIVA Beyond’s “Winter Wonderland on the Seine” pairs time in the French capital with stops in Les Andelys, Rouen and Conflans.

Rouen’s Christmas market and half-timbered old town add a festive element to an itinerary that combines French history, village visits and Parisian café stops.

Advent traditions along the Danube

“Danube Christmas Tales” aboard the VIVA Enjoy connects Regensburg, Passau, Linz, Melk, Bratislava and Vienna.
