The new Legend of the Seas completed its inaugural season in the Western Mediterranean in late October.
Delivered by the Meyer Turku shipyard earlier this year, the Icon-class ship spent its first months of service operating seven-night itineraries from Spain and Italy to destinations including Marseille, France; La Spezia, Italy; and Palma de Mallorca, Spain.
Upon completing the summer season, the Legend of the Seas embarked on a 13-night repositioning voyage to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, which will be its homeport for the winter season.
After departing Barcelona on October 29, the vessel visited Palma de Mallorca, Málaga and Cádiz before starting a nine-night journey to Port Everglades, where it is scheduled to arrive on November 7, 2027
As previously reported by Cruise Industry News, the ship’s naming ceremony will be held in Fort Lauderdale on Veterans Day, November 11, 2026, with retired U.S. Air Force Gen. Lori J. Robinson serving as the vessel’s godmother.
The Legend of the Seas is then scheduled to embark on a series of six- to eight-night cruises to destinations in the Caribbean and the Bahamas, all of which include a visit to Royal Caribbean’s private island destination, Perfect Day at CocoCay.
Other ports of call set to be visited by the ship include Oranjestad, Aruba; Willemstad, Curacao; and Cozumel, Mexico.
The 250,800-ton vessel is scheduled to return to Europe in May 2027, kicking off a second summer season in the Western Mediterranean.
Royal Caribbean is also gearing up for the debut of the Hero of the Seas, which will become the fourth Icon-class vessel in its fleet in 2027.
