Phoenix Reisen’s Amera departed Plymouth Sound on October 20, marking the end of another cruise season Cattewater Harbour Plymouth described as hugely successful.
The port saw over 20 calls from cruise vessels, superyachts and tall ships, with approximately 11,000 guests stepping ashore at the Barbican Landing Stage, arriving in the heart of the historic Barbican.
Highlights included inaugural visits from Ritz-Carlton’s Evrima and P&O Cruises’ Aurora, as well as SeaDream Yacht Club’s SeaDream II in September.
To mark the end of the season, Cattewater Harbour hosted a cream tea wrap-up event.
During the event, Evie Smith, cruise business development lead for Cattewater Harbour, updated the volunteers, the Deputy Leader of the Council and representatives from Plymouth City Council and the Plymouth Waterfront Partnership on the city’s three-year cruise visit pipeline.
Looking forward, there are currently 38 call enquiries across 2027 and 2028, many of which are already confirmed, with a further 10 listed for 2029 and more expected in the coming months.
Smith highlighted efforts to maintain high industry visibility, hosting a fam trip earlier this year and welcoming the Cruise Britain Summer Event to Plymouth in June, among other things.
She also shared updates on public realm enhancements at Commercial Wharf aimed at creating a welcoming environment for all visitors.
