The Mystic Cruises fleet and crew are getting ready to start the company’s Antarctic programs this month.
Running until March 2027, the season begins on November 8 for the World Navigator, November 10 for World Voyager and November 21, 2026, for World Traveller.
In a recent social media update, the company shared that the World Voyager is making its way to Ushuaia, with arrival scheduled for November 6, with the World Navigator to follow on November 7.
Meanwhile, the World Traveller was said to be spending the entire week at sea while crossing the Atlantic Ocean.
The company is busy preparing Zodiacs, checking expedition equipment and coordinating embarkation procedures, while navigation, technical operations, medical readiness, communications, food preparation, housekeeping and daily needs of guests and crew continue onboard.
Since an Antarctic itinerary depends on weather, sea state, ice, wildlife behavior and operational requirements, flexibility is required due to frequent changes in routes, landing sites and Zodiac activities.
The Expedition Leader and Assistant Expedition Leader work with the Master and bridge team to review weather, sea conditions, ice, wind and the situation at the proposed site, the cruise line explained.
Being a member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators (IAATO), Mystic Cruises follows its strict guidelines for expeditions.
In addition to existing biosecurity procedures and wildlife-distancing requirements, the guidelines include additional precautions relating to avian influenza and other wildlife diseases for the 2026–27 season.
