Adora Cruises has taken delivery of its newest ship, the Adora Flora City, at the Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Yard, on November 6.
The vessel will reposition from the shipyard to Shanghai Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal on November 7, followed by its first trial voyage two days later, arriving at its homeport of Guangzhou on November 12.
This is the cruise line’s third ship, following the Adora Magic City and Adora Mediterranea, and the second one to be built in China.
At 341 meters long and with a gross tonnage of 141,900 tons, the ship has 2,130 cabins and suites and can accommodate 5,232 guests at full capacity.
“With the delivery and upcoming entry into service of Adora Flora City, Adora Cruises will continue to expand its fleet, optimize capacity deployment and elevate the guest experience to better meet growing demand for high-quality travel among Chinese consumers,” said Adora.
“Drawing on our extensive operating experience, we will steadily advance the remaining preparations to ensure Adora Flora City enters service in optimal condition.”
The Adora Flora City will depart from Guangzhou Nansha International Cruise Home Port on its five-night maiden voyage on November 22, calling on Hong Kong and Chan May, Vietnam.
The ship’s christening will also take place on that date, with Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing to serve as its godmother.
The inaugural season includes four- and five-night sailings to Hong Kong and Vietnam, an overnight Hong Kong sailing, and an eight-night itinerary visiting Vietnam, Malaysia and Brunei.
The company also underlined a 16-night voyage that will take guests across six Southeast Asian countries for the first time: Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, the Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam.
The ship will also offer itineraries from Hong Kong, including nearly 20 cruises from late March to early May, late June to late July, and late October to early November.
