Virtuoso has named Thatcher Brown chief development officer, a newly created position, that is effective immediately, the company said in a press release. Brown will lead the development of all new markets, categories and business opportunities meant to support the luxury travel network’s long-term growth strategy and expand value for its members, partners and travelers too.
“Thatcher brings a rare combination of curiosity, judgment and execution,” said president Brad Bourland.
Brown will join Virtuoso’s executive leadership team and report to Bourland, working alongside chief commercial officer Tristan Dowell.
Brown brings nearly four decades of experience across luxury hospitality, cruise, travel distribution and lifestyle, including senior roles with Four Seasons, Fairmont Hotels & Resorts, Jumeirah Group, Costa Cruises and Crystal Cruises.
He served as founding president of Dream Cruises in Asia, helped launch MSC Group’s Explora Journeys and also most recently was chief commercial officer and head of joint operations for Mark-Henry Cruise Holdings, joint owner and operator of Four Seasons Yachts.
Brown first joined Virtuoso in 2024 as senior vice president, global products, then went on to serve as founding chief executive of Crescent Seas, an ultra-luxury residential cruise venture, before returning to Virtuoso as special advisor on cruise, the company said.
