LTH Baas has announced that the first six months of the year have been marked by intensive project activity for the company, with five Royal Caribbean Group ships benefiting from major interior refurbishment work.
The company said in a press release that it completed projects covered on the Ovation of the Seas, Star of the Seas, Celebrity Solstice, Mariner of the Seas and Explorer of the Seas.
The work consisted of 111 refurbished staterooms. In addition to guest accommodation, the scope included technical and background work, as well as upgrades to public spaces such as card and conference rooms, lobbies and corridors.
LTH Baas stated that delivering projects of this scale requires more than transforming interior spaces: careful preparation, technical coordination, material procurement and logistical planning worldwide are essential to keeping every workstream on schedule.
During drydock, up to 150 workers were coordinated onboard, bringing together different trades and disciplines to complete multiple tasks within a limited timeframe.
Working in the demanding environment of an operating cruise ship presents its own set of challenges, the company added.
Restricted access, work in silence and complex onboard logistics require close cooperation between all parties, while maintaining high standards of workmanship and minimizing disruption to vessel operations.
